We asked some of the 2025 Kindy parents - what do you wish you were told beforehand?

"The Kindy Choir is a great experience. My child isn't very musical but had a great experience. Their performances are very cute! The concert band can't be joined until year 3, but strings ensemble is open from kindy."

"We have one school event each year which is a big deal for all the students, and the school community to rally behind. This year is the school fete in May." 

"We anticipated but didn't quite appreciate just how tired he'd be after a day/week/term of Big School. We paused his weekend activities for his first term to give our little one time to rest after a big week and that helped a lot. By term 2, he was settled in and we were back to our regular programming!"

"Don't worry if your child hasn't started reading yet... Kindies are introduced to a decodable style of teaching and can go as slow or fast as they need. The progress can feel slow with home reader practise but by the end of the year, I was amazed by the improvement."
