Ferncourt is a very social school and events are a major way for us to have fun, get to know each other and to raise money to help make the school the great place it is for our kids. Below are some of the regular events organised by the P&C:
New Parent Welcome BBQ - A BBQ is provided a few weeks into each new year to welcome new parents and families to the school including Kindergarten families. It is traditionally run by Yr 1 parents. After school in the early weeks of the year.
Ferncourt Family Fun Fair or May Fair - This is one of the major fundraisers for the school and is run every second year on the odd years. The Ferncourt Fair is famous for its old fashioned fun, great stalls and good value.
Halloween Disco - The kids love the Halloween Disco!! At the end of October, the school becomes a fun and slightly spooky place for dressing up, dancing, games and yummy treats.
Ferncourt Fiesta/Bingo/Trivia night - An evening of entertainment that has become a regular event (at least in the non-Fair years). Book the baby sitter for this parent only event!
The hard working teachers also organise several events throughout the year like:
Easter Hat Parade - In the days leading up to the Easter long weekend, an Easter Hat Parade is held. Children parade around the playground or hall sporting their gorgeous homemade hats. In the weeks before, families are asked to donate eggs etc that are used to create Easter baskets raffled off as prizes at the Parade. Families are also asked to sell raffle tickets for the raffle.
Art Fair - Around the middle of every odd year an Art Fair is held. Teachers work with students in the lead up to the Fair to create gorgeous individual and class art works for sale.
Gala Concert - All classes and students are involved in a grand, gala concert showcasing the talents of the Ferncourt Kids including singing, dancing and drama. The event has gotten so big that there is a matinee AND night time performance to accommodate all those who wish to attend! This occurs every second year when the year is even.
